Fixture/Automation Designer (Junior Level)      

Answer Precision invites applications from interested, qualified individuals for the position of a full time Fixture/Automation Designer (Junior Level). This position reports directly to the Manager of Engineering. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible.              

Nature & Scope of Position:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Engineering, the Fixture/Automation Designer is responsible for designing tooling, gauges and fixtures to ensure stipulated specification and requirements are met and delivered within budget and on time. Additionally, they review and analyze project requirements, specification, plan, design and installation. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Using established procedures, the Fixture/Automation design engineer is responsible for new engineering design, able to extract requirements and determine steps to implement reference design implementation or design modifications of existing product.
  • Ability to take direction, to produce a general concept, and develop it into a final design.
  • Work to schedule time lines for efficient releases.
  • Communicate progress on tasks to Manager of Engineering.
  • Create detailed 3D designs and drawings.
  • Produce working drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Ensure our designs meet both customer and APT Standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality on GD&T print tolerances.
  • Focused on technical detail while making effective contributions.
  • Participate in team design reviews and analysis.
  • Adhere to all ISO procedures pertaining to job responsibilities.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and use of analytical thinking skills.
  • Ensures design for manufacturability.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma from a recognized institution or a minimum high school diploma with relevant experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred two (2) years’ experience in Fixture or Automation Design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills in dealing effectively with internal stakeholders such as Project Management and Manufacturing.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc).
  • Understanding and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Solidworks or similar software experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in fast paced / team environment.

Technical Sales Representative

Answer Precision invites applications from interested, qualified individuals for the position of a full time Technical Sales Representative. This position reports directly to the Manager of Sales. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible.                         

Nature & Scope of Position:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Sales, the Technical Sales Representative will work with the Sales team which is responsible for driving revenue growth through the execution of the company’s current sales plan that focuses on relationship building, business development and account management. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Generating sales opportunities through Answer Precision’s current sales plan which aligns with our company vision and objectives, while taking ownership of sales activities and targeted revenue.
  • Assisting the Estimating department with quoting of projects to meet quote deadlines.
  • Building long-lasting business relationships that are beneficial to the client and profitable to our business.
  • Keeping abreast of supply and demand, changing market trends and economic indicators.
  • Keeping current on competitors pricing and product offerings to maintain a competitive position in our industry.
  • Identifying, driving and capitalizing on new opportunities to benefit the company.
  • Managing sales opportunities through our internal sales process from prospecting new clients through to the closing of a sale.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma. A post-secondary education in sales management or a related discipline such as technical school graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, is an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the automotive tool industry.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry at the OEM and Tier I levels.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GD&T and part prints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building strong business relationships with customers through the use of effective communication skills to identify and understand their needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • The ability to be self-disciplined to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, WebEx etc.).
  • A valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel throughout North America if required.
